On Friday, April 27, 2018, I had the privilege of photographing the Navy Homecoming of the USS San Juan (SSN-751). I was hired by Kenzie to photograph her sailor’s (Casey’s) return. Kenzie remembered me from when the USS San Juan returned in September 2016. I was hired by another couple (Amber and Ryan) for the 2016 homecoming, but managed to snap a candid photograph of Kenzie & Casey reuniting. I knew Kenzie didn’t have a photographer, so I wanted to make sure she had at least one photograph to preserve the moment. Kenzie appreciated the photograph so much that she hired me for this most recent homecoming of the USS San Juan. I’m grateful our paths crossed again and that I had the opportunity to photograph these special moments of Kenzie and Casey reuniting after another long period of time apart.
