Allison & Jeff’s early Fall wedding at Stonehurst Mansion in Hampton, Connecticut. Stonehurst is one of my favorite venues because it combines a rustic charm with a modern elegance. It’s perfect for a couple that loves the rustic element, but wants the space and lighting of a modern venue.
Stonehurst recently renovated its mansion, and now has arguably the grandest bridal suite and groom suite for getting ready –a photographer’s delight!
I used to photograph all the details individually, but I’ve become very fond of laying spreading them out, together for one photo. I think this makes for a very elegant spread of a bride’s wardrobe and invitational details. Though to be fair, Kayleigh Cotto from Danleigh Videography (my favorite videographers), laid out this detail specific detail board.
Should you get custom hangars for your wedding dress and bridesmaids’ dresses? YES! It’s a personal way to make your bridesmaids feel appreciated by customizing something for them, but it also makes for a great shot when all the dresses are hanging together!
I love the lamp posts of Stonehurst’s driveway. As someone who loves symmetry and depth-of-field in photos, this is one of my favorite onsite locations to take some bride and groom pictures.
Night shots with the bride and groom can make for some of the most creative photos in your wedding album. This is also a chance to step out of your wedding reception if you need a break from dancing.
